The Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts has chosen 20 literary and visual artists from New York State to spend a month this summer at the Saltonstall Arts Colony. At the end of each month-long session, on a Sunday afternoon, there is an Open Studio. Open Studio Sundays are a wonderful opportunity to visit the Saltonstall Arts Colony and meet the five literary and visual artists who have spent the past month in residence at the colony. On these delightful afternoons, the colony is open to the public. Beginning with readings from the writers, the remainder of the afternoon is given to visiting the visual artists studios and engaging in conversation with then about their work and the process of making art.
The Open Studio for the 4th session at the Saltonstall Arts Colony will be held on Sunday September 25, 2011 from 2PM - 4PM at 435 Ellis Hollow Creek Road Ithaca, NY. Don't miss this opportunity to experience art at the source! Listen to the literary artists read from their current work and tour the visual artists' studios; spend a lovely afternoon in the Hollow with refreshments and conversation.
