Saltonstall Welcomes New Director

“The only constant is change”. . . . . . . Laertius

Judy Barringer (l) and Lesley Williamson

The Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts is pleased to announce that we, too, are going through a significant change - the hiring of a new Administrative Director. Our current Director, Judy Barringer, is stepping down after being with Saltonstall for over 11 years. For the first seven of those years Judy was the fabulous cook for the colony, expanding the culinary experiences of those artists fortunate enough to garner a residency here. When she was hired as Administrative Director four years ago it was quite a shift in responsibilities which she handled with confidence and professionalism. We will miss her deeply... her cooking (lunches for Board meetings!), her smile, her love for the arts and artists, and her tireless enthusiasm for promoting Connie Saltonstall's vision.

But with that change we are very happy to announce the hiring of our new Administrative Director, Lesley Williamson. Lesley has had significant experience as Program Director with the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua, New York as well as working with the North Shore Arts Alliance in northern Chautauqua County. Her parents were classical musicians and she is married to a classical guitarist and teacher; all of which is to say she been immersed in the arts for the greater part of her life and has great respect for artists and the programs that help support them. She has stepped into the position of Administrative Director seamlessly as she and Judy have developed both a professional relationship and personal friendship. We are honored to have her working with us and we foresee great opportunities for the future of the colony and the many artists we will be helping in the coming years.
