Beth Giacummo (2016)

Beth Giacummo is an artist, curator and educator. She holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and a MFA in New Forms from Pratt Institute.

 

Exhibiting her work nationally and internationally, Beth has shown in New York, Romania, Russia, Spain, Italy and Denmark. She has studied at Escola d’Arts Plastique I Disseny, Spain, Pilchuck School of Glass, Seattle, Mallnitz, Austria, Bobald, Romania and the Danish School of Design, Copenhagen, Denmark, Lucca, Italy and Glaspustning Jyderup Højskole, Denmark.Beth has received a number of grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts in support of her projects and residencies and was a collaborator on the first NY Contemporary Art Symposium in 2013.

 

Beth’s professional experiences range from arts education, curatorial work, museum management, exhibition direction, non-profit building, arts activism, fundraising and international program development for artists and students.She currently serves as the Exhibitions Director and Senior Curator at the Islip Art Museum.
