Jacob Dawson (2013)

jacobdawson_1Born a military brat, Jacob Dawson began his career as a storyteller navigating the many new schools, new neighborhoods, and nearly terrible situations that somehow seemed to find him.

Graduating from Eastern Illinois University, first with a BA in English and immediately after an MA in English, too, he taught for a few years at Lake Land Community College as a Composition and Literature Instructor. Fearing that his life had offered up everything, he made a change, moved to New York City, and dove headfirst into NYU’s MFA program in Fiction Writing. He is hard at work on his first novel, The Twang of Oranges.

Two of Jake’s stories have been published on-line: “Twenty-Eight Minutes” can be read here via Bartleby Snopes (on page 37), and “Chunk” can be read here via Pank Magazine.
