Poet Lisa Chen (’18) wins Rona Jaffe Foundation Award
Lisa Chen is among six women who are winners of the highly competitive 2018 Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award. This award recognizes the contributions of women writers who have made special contributions to our culture and society.
Lisa is a Brooklyn-based writer born in Taipei. Her book Mouth (Kaya Press), won the 2009 Book Award for Poetry from Association of Asian American Studies. She has held residencies at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Workspace Program and Blue Mountain Center, and was a 2017 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship Finalist in Nonfiction Literature and a Center for Fiction Emerging Writers Fellow. She holds a BA from UC Berkeley and an MFA from the University of Iowa.
