Our two retreats for public school teachers in Tompkins County are right around the corner. We can’t wait to welcome the following teachers to the colony during their winter break in February:

  • Sarah Locke-Mountin, art teacher, Belle Sherman/Fall Creek Elementary
  • Keith Thompson, social studies teacher, Ithaca High School
  • Mike Levy, creative writing teacher, LACS
  • Priscilla Reyer, art teacher, Smith School, TST BOCES
  • Farr Carey, school psychologist, Lansing Middle School

… and the following teachers during their spring break in April:

  • Nicole Dauria, special education, Northeast Elementary School
  • Melissa Enns, social worker, Northeast Elementary School
  • Elizabeth Rechtin, art teacher, Dryden High School
  • Shira Wasserman, elementary teacher, TST BOCES
  • Jill Browne, 5th grade teacher, Enfield Elementary

These ten teachers will come to the colony for a free, four-night / five-day retreat to focus on their own art or writing projects. Funding for this program is generously provided by the Ithaca City School District’s Fine Arts Booster Group, an affiliate of IPEI, the Ithaca Public Education Initiative.

Congratulations, all!
