January – mid-April: self-directed, do-it-yourself retreats continue through Spring

 

 

January 2: application deadline for our 2018 summer residency

 

 

 

February 17 – 21: residency / retreat for Tompkins County public school teachers from Ithaca, Dryden, Groton, Lansing, Newfield, and Trumansburg

 

 

March 24 – 28: residency / retreat for Tompkins County public school teachers from Ithaca, Dryden, Groton, Lansing, Newfield, and Trumansburg

 

 

 

Saturday March 31: Alums Stephen Kuusisto (’15) and Sigrid Nunez (’16) will be coming to Ithaca to read together on Saturday, March 31 at 4:00pm at Buffalo Street Books.

 

 

 

Saturday, May 5th: As part of the Spring Writes Literary Festival, we will host Who Cares About the Past? Transforming Personal Experiences into Art, a reading and panel discussion at Buffalo Street Books, 3:30 – 5:00pm. Moderated by Christine Kitano. Readings by Santee Frazer, Devon Moore (’15) and Leo Rios (’18).

 

 

Monday, May 14: Residency season begins

 

 

Sunday, June 10: Open House | Open Studio at the colony, 2:00 – 4:00 pm (readings begin at 2:30 pm)

 

 

Sunday, July 15: Open House | Open Studio at the colony, 2:00 – 4:00 pm (readings begin at 2:30 pm)

 

 

Sunday, August 19: Open House | Open Studio at the colony, 2:00 – 4:00 pm (readings begin at 2:30 pm)

 

 

Sunday, September 9: Open House | Open Studio at the colony, 2:00 – 4:00 pm (readings begin at 2:30 pm)

 

 

Tuesday, September 25:  final Open House | Open Studio at the colony, 5:30 – 7:30 pm (readings begin at 6:00 pm)

 

 

Thursday, October 4th: please join us for our 2018 Fundraiser at The Cherry Artspace in Ithaca, NY. The installation “Adapting Conditions” will feature a special site-specific work by Lorrie Fredette (’14),  sound installation by Adam Diller (’14 ) and lighting design by E.D. Intemann.  Fantastic food will be provided by Ithaca’s own The Good Truck! Tickets to this special preview and fundraiser are only $35.00 per person or $60.00 for two.  Purchase tickets here.

 

 

Friday, October 5th: opening reception for a site and sound installation by alumni Lorrie Fredette (’14) and Adam Diller (’14), at The Cherry Artspace. Lighting design by E.D. Intemann.  The reception for the artist is 5:00 – 8:00pm. This exhibit will be open to public through several weekends: October 5-7, 12-14 and 19-21, 5:00 – 8:00pm.

 

 

October 8th: off-season begins. The colony’s facilities are now available for self-directed retreats, first-come first-served, through mid April, 2019

 

 

Early November: approximate time that our 2019 residency Call for Entries is announced and the application portal opens

 

 

January 2, 2019: application deadline for our 2019 juried summer residency program
