Visual artists Elena Soterakis (’12) and Deanna Lee (’12) are two of the featured artists in “I Am Pocket Sized,” a new exhibition at the Islip Art Museum that invited artists from around the world to create art that fits in the palm of your hand.
The exhibition opened June 28 and runs through September 13.
Elena has two paintings in the show, both of which were made at Saltonstall during her 2012 residency: Woods at Saltonstall (oil on panel, 8 x 5 inches), on the left in the image above, and Sky Study (oil on panel, 5 x 7 inches).
The Islip Art Museum is located at 50 Irish Lane, in East Islip on Long Island. Hours are Thursday and Friday, 10:00 – 4:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 – 4:00 pm. There is a suggested donation of $5.00.
