Katy Higgins explores the human desire to find answers to the creation of the natural world, and the idea of it being a conquerable challenge. She also compares this to the belief that we can change the world to match our needs. She explores the tensions, impulses, and realities of these ideas.
Higgins received a B.F.A from Oberlin College and M.F.A from Mason Gross School of the Arts. Her work has been exhibited in several galleries and museums throughout the US including: McDonough Museum of Art, Roy G. Biv Gallery, SRO Photo Gallery, Live Box Gallery, Civic Square Building Gallery, Kala Art Institute, and BAC Gallery.
