Megan Cump (2008)

 

megan_cump_caveMegan Cump holds a B.A from Macalester College and a M.F.A from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. Cump’s photographs are influenced by folktales, spirit photography, epic poems, alchemy of analog photography, myths, and narratives of metamorphoses.

 

Cump has had her work exhibited throughout the US in MASS MOCA, Sheppard Fine Arts Gallery, Flanders Art Gallery, Islip Art Museum, Tamayo Museum, Texas Women’s Universtiy, and Studio Z, to just name a few. She has also taught at NYU, International Center of Photography, and Loyola Marymount University. Her photographs have been reviewed in The New York Times, LID Magazine, Photo District News, The Washington Post, and NY Arts Magazine.

 

She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
