Michael Ferris Jr. currently lives and works in Bronx, NY. Ferris received his B.F.A from KCAI in 1991 and his M.F.A from Indiana University in 1996. Ferris has had solo shows at ATM Gallery, NYC; Packer Schopf Gallery in Chicago, IL and George Adams Gallery in NYC. In 2012 Michael had exhibitions of drawings and sculptures at Lehman College, Bronx, NY and Elmhurst Art Museum in Elmhurst Illinois.
Ferris has received many awards including NYFA Fellowship in Sculpture, NYC; Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Program, NYC; Roswell Artist-in-Residence, Roswell, NM; Emerging Artist Grant through the ACC, NYC; Sugarman Foundation Grant, Navato, CA; Sculpture Space residency, Utica, NY; and a BRIO, SPARC, Arts-in-Education and Arts Fund Grants, Bronx Council on the Arts.
