Born in Zagreb and fluent in Croatian, Nina Herzog (’09,’16) has an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from NYU and an undergraduate degree from Barnard College.
Nina was a contributing writer at POZ Magazine, where she wrote book reviews and general interest pieces as well as conducted interviews. She was managing editor of Global City Review and co-editor of its International Issue. Additionally, she has published reviews in Global City Review, Evergreen Chronicles and XXX Fruit, as well as parts of her memoir-in-progress, Generous Monster, in The Great River Review and The Reader.
Nina has also been awarded residencies at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, the Anderson Center for Interdisciplinary Arts, the Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts (’09) and the Millay Colony. In 2009, she was short-listed for the X. J. Kennedy Prize.
