Susan Morelock is an artist whose practice primarily concerns the photographic image. Compelled at once by beauty and theory, her work takes form in a liminal space found somewhere between the excavated real of the archaeologist’s dig and the imagined mythology created in the painter’s studio.
Morelock has exhibited in venues across the United States as well as South Korea and Italy. She holds a BFA in photography from Rochester Institute of Technology, an MA in visual and critical studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and an MFA from Columbia University.
Born in Pennsylvania, Morelock currently lives in Queens, NY and teaches at Purchase College.
