Megan Culhane Galbraith is a Fellow of The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and The Saltonstall Foundation. She is Associate Director of the Bennington Writing Seminars.

Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in the anthology, My Body, My Words; Reservoir Literary Journal; Catapult; Longreads; Beyond; Cleaver Magazine; PANK; Hotel Amerika; ROARfeminist.org; and The Manifest-Station, among others. She was a finalist for AWP’s WC&C Scholarship in 2015 (judged by Xu Xi), and a Scholar at Bindercon.
Her essay, “Sin Will Find You Out,” was selected by Longreads, and No. 3 in The Top 5 Longreads of the Week. It appeared in LitHub Daily’s roundup of The Best of The Literary Internet, and in the “What I’m Reading” section of The Ann Friedman Weekly.
Megan is at work on a hybrid memoir in essays titled, The Guild of the Infant Saviour. Part social history, part memoir, the collection examines motherhood, nature/nurture, shame, identity, and the transformation of New York City through her lens as an adoptee. It blends images from The Dollhouse, and stories her birthmother told her.
Her essays have been featured on 51% on WAMC-FM and have been twice selected for the Bookmarks Reading Series at The Arts Center in Troy, New York. She served as guest editor of The Notebook: A Progressive Journal for Rural Girls and Women, and served on the editorial board of The Grassroots Women Project.
Megan lives in Cambridge, New York on a small farm with her husband, two sons, three rescue dogs, two barn cats, and a herd of dairy cows. The pigs come and go.
