We are thrilled to announce that the National Endowment for the Arts has awarded $15,000 to the Saltonstall Foundation for fiscal year 2024 in the “Grants for Arts Projects” category. In our case, our “arts project” is our residency program!

From the NEA’s press release: “Grants for Arts Projects (GAP) provides expansive funding opportunities to strengthen the nation’s arts and cultural ecosystem. The National Endowment for the Arts received 1,996 eligible Grants for Arts Projects applications this round, which were submitted in February 2023 … The NEA will award 958 grants for a total of $27,178,300 to support arts projects in 15 artistic disciplines and fields.”

Saltonstall is the only entity in Tompkins County to receive an NEA Award in this cycle. We do not take this for granted. Like many of the artists and writers we support, we apply for this opportunity every year and are not always successful. We received our first NEA grant in 2022 and are very happy to receive our second award this year.

Thank you, NEA! We are deeply grateful.
