unnamed (4)Photographer Simen Johan (’12) will be featured in two exhibitions in New York City: Scandinavia House and Yossi Milo Gallery. Congratulations, Simen!

 

Opening Friday, May 6 through Saturday August 6, Johan will be exhibiting work in a group exhibition titled Another North: Landscape Reimagined at the Scandinavia House. This exhibition features innovative, contemporary Nordic artists that utilize the landscape to limn the boundary between the known and unknown reimagining it as a multivalent space  at once familiar and otherworldly, familiar and unfamiliar. The Scandinavia House is located at 58 Park Ave., NYC, NY 10016 and is open Tuesday – Saturday, 12 -6pm.

 

Simen Johan is also opening a solo exhibition of his photographic and sculptural works at the Yossi Milo Gallery. This exhibition will open May 26 and run through August 10. Known for his psychologically charged depictions of the natural world, the artist has expanded his creative universe to include ceramic sculptures, celestial bodies and detailed compositions that oscillate between bright light and dark shadows. This will be the artist’s ninth exhibition at the gallery. Yossi Milo Gallery at 245 Tenth Ave., NYC, NY 10001. The gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10 -6pm.
