Recent alumna Corinne Spencer (’22) will be featured in a solo exhibition at the Cherry Gallery (adjacent to the Cherry Artspace) in Ithaca’s west end neighborhood. We are thrilled to be co-sponsoring Cori’s exhibition and her return to Ithaca.
At the Threshold, a hypnotic, immersive new installation incorporating photography and video, opens Friday, February 10 with a reception for the artist at 5:00pm and runs through April 2.
The Cherry Gallery is located at 130 Cherry St. and will be open to the public Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5pm.
At the Threshold creates a sublime, mythologized journey beginning with longing, emptiness, and the yearning for love, and blossoming into tenderness and homecoming within the self. The work reenvisions the relationship between blackness and the land, moving from a story tangled up in America’s history of enslavement and forced labor, to one supplanting violence with tenderness, romance and mystery.
