Apply for a 2026 Hupstate Residency by February 1, 2026
For the fifth year in a row, Saltonstall will be hosting Hupstate, a first of its kind juried residency for individual circus artists in New York State.
The brainchild of Amy Cohen, founder of Ithaca’s very own circus school, Circus Culture, Hupstate will include many of the hallmarks of a traditional Saltonstall residency — private accommodations, stipend support, chef-prepared dinners — plus six hours a day of shared circus studio time at Circus Culture in downtown Ithaca. Similar to a Saltonstall residency, it is FREE to apply and to attend Hupstate.
