Christian Carson (’14) & Gina Occhiogrosso (’11) in exhibition at Skidmore College

Two alums, Christian Carson (’14) and Gina Occhiogrosso (’11) are featured in Scenes and Variations: Five Unconventional Interpretations of Landscape at Schick Gallery. The exhibition will open Thursday, March 24 – April 30. Join Carson and Occhiogrosso and three other artists on March 24 at 4pm for an artist’s talk and 5-7 pm for an opening reception.

Scenes and Variations is an exhibition of works by regional artists who use the conventional theme of landscape in unconventional ways.  For these artists, landscape imagery can be a stage set; a metaphor; or a tradition of bucolic imagery to be questioned and countered.   All five artists observe the mediated and uneasy ways we experience landscape in our time, and their works reflect attempts to control it as well as impacts upon it, both planned and inadvertent.

Schick Art Gallery is located at Skidmore College, Saisselin Art Building, 815 North Broadway, Saratoga Spring, NY 12866. Gallery hours are Monday – Thursday 10-6 pm, Friday 10-4 pm, Saturday & Sunday: 12 – 4 pm.
