Downstairs and down the hallway, this cozy suite is probably the quietest at the colony since it’s the farthest away from the front door, the kitchen, and the furnace. This was originally designed as our founder’s work space because it includes a complete darkroom behind Door #1. But you’d never know it was there.
The sleeping area is carpeted, but there is no separation between it and the work area. The suite includes a large writing desk, a drafting table, a couch, and a number of small movable shelving units.
Once wall is covered with a bulletin board, and more bulletin boards line the entire hallway. There is a private bath with a tub/shower combo, and a private patio for use in good weather. The patio faces east; the other large windows face south.
Quirks of the space:
There is only one thermostat on the ground floor, and it is controlled by your neighbor in the other writer’s suite. Fear not, this unit does not run cold since it’s smaller than the neighboring suite.
The breaker panel for the house is located in this suite. On very rare occasions, we might need access.
We’ve been told that the internet signal is not terrific in this space so plan accordingly.
