Main house, upstairs writer's suite

This is the original master bedroom in the house and the only living space on the upper floor. This suite is comprised of one large, fully carpeted room with vaulted ceilings. There is a small screen separating the sleeping from working area.

There is a large writing desk, a couch, coffee table, upholstered reading (staring out the window) chair, and a large linen closet that’s mostly empty but where we store a few seasonal odds and ends.

If you enjoy taking baths, this is the suite for you. The bathroom in this suite is the largest on the property and includes a large and deep tub. There’s also a skylight in the bathroom.

There is a private deck for use when the weather’s nice. The door to the deck and two large windows face east with a lovely view over our pond to the hills in the distance.

Quirks of the space:

This beautiful room runs cool in the winter. This is partly due to its three exterior walls and partly due to poor air flow once the doors of the suite have closed it off from the dining room and the thermostat.

Not to fear! We have a great space heater, and nearly everyone uses this.

Be aware that this room is quite close to the only kitchen at the colony, and you may hear/smell the cooking of other guests.
