Dear Friends,

Saltonstall is so pleased to introduce you to the 35 writers, poets, photographers, filmmakers, and visual artists from across New York State who have been awarded a residency Fellowship. This season, we are once again offering a one-week residency for artist- and writer-parents and an additional one-week session (for anyone!). We’ve grown. Eleven years ago, we awarded residencies to just 20 artists and writers during the summer months. We are proud to welcome more Fellows and more creativity with each passing year.

For the second time, we’ll also offer an equity-informed stipend program that attempts to get more financial support to our Fellows, to overcome some of the burden or risk of accepting a residency. We hope it will make a meaningful difference and make time at Saltonstall more accessible.

Please join us at our five Open House events throughout the season and enjoy readings and works-in-progress in the studios. (Open House dates are listed below when applicable. Be sure to save the dates!) These informal events are free of charge, wheelchair-friendly, and open to all. We’re just seven miles from downtown Ithaca.

Congratulations to our 2024 Fellows—and welcome!
