Nava Lubelski (2002)

navalubelski copyNava Lubelski  is a sculptor and fiber artist who’s work explores contradictions between destruction and healing as well as the contradiction of feminine and masculine “mark making.”

Lubelski received her B.A in Russian language, literature, and history from Wesleyan University. She was born and grew up in SoHo, and currently resides in Jackson Heights, NY. She has written a book called The Starving Artist’s Way, an edgier Martha Stewart craft book that teaches people how to make funky, chic and creative items on a budget.

Her work has been exhibited in several galleries across the US such as: the San Diego Museum of Art, Museum of Arts & Design, OH&T, Turchin Center for the Visual Arts, and Flood Fine Art Center. Her work has also been exhibited internationally in Canada, Australia, and Germany. Lubelski is a recipient of the NYFA Artist’s Fellowship Grant, the North Carolina Arts Council Artist Fellowship Award, and was the Arts Bars Artist for Ithaca Fine Chocolates in 2004.
