Julie Nymann (2014)

julie_nymann_2014-300x300Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Julie Nymann is now a Brooklyn based artist. Working with performed characters, still image, understated video narrative, digital manipulation, audio-visual sound, and duplication methods.

She is the recipient of residencies at The Bronx Museum of the Arts and D’CLINIC Studios in Slovenia. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Science in Boston, and she has participated in group exhibitions at Licht Feld Biennale, Basel; Anthology Film Archives, New York; MINT Gallery, Atlanta; United Photo Industries, Brooklyn; and No Man’s Art Gallery, Shanghai.


Julie received the First Prize at Bideodrom Film Festival in Bilbao, Spain, and Queen Margrethe II of Denmark honored her with an Artisan award. Her work has been reviewed by HyperallergicDazed and Confused and I DO ART. She has been published in international publications such as ScrappedDer GreifOf The Afternoonand Le Petit Voyeur.
