Mary Begley is an abstract painter who composes stories of the human existence in relation to technology with the use of color, texture, and form. She was born in Buffalo, NY and raised in Saratoga Springs, NY. Begley received her B.F.A from SUNY Buffalo and her M.F.A from the University of Buffalo.
Begley is a 1998 NYFA Fellow and a 2008 NYFA MARK artist. Her painting, Incubation was awarded “Best in Show” in the 2012 MADE IN NY exhibit at Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center. In addition to her career as a painter, she is the Label Manager at Ani DiFranco’s Righteous Babe Records. She resides in Buffalo, NY.
