Susan D’Amato (2014)

susandam copySusan D’Amato is a visual artist engaged in drawing practice. She is currently working on a series of charcoal, ink and graphite drawings that explore the visual and conceptual correspondences among the body and universal forms. Her work has been awarded and exhibited extensively in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, including The Drawing Center’s LineAge; fall selections 2005 exhibition.


She is a recipient of the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Drawing, the Mid Atlantic Arts Fellowship in Drawing/Works on Paper, and is a visual arts fellow of numerous residency programs including: Yaddo, The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, The Ragdale Foundation, The Millay Colony and The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, among others. Her studio is based in upstate New York, where she is an Associate Professor in the School of Art and Design at Syracuse University.
