Oh, how we LOVE our teacher retreats! We said a reluctant goodbye today to this wonderful and deserving group of Tompkins County school teachers, (first photo, clockwise) Jon Raimon, Justin DiMatteo, Abigail Bokaer, Sophie Becraft, and Ellen Pennock, after their four-night stay.
Special thanks to Chef Kuukua of Asempe Kitchen and Chef Dan Kiely of Kiely’s Cooking for preparing the delicious dinners our teachers enjoyed throughout their stay. And as always, thanks to the Ithaca Public Education Initiative for their ongoing support. We are so grateful to be able to give back to our local teachers in this way. As a filmmaker said yesterday after learning about this program, “That’s the best use of a residency I’ve heard of in a long time.” We wholeheartedly agree.
We’ll host one more retreat for Tompkins County teachers during their spring recess in April. Looking forward to it!
