Ithaca, the circus is coming to town! Produced by our friends at Circus Culture, the Hupstate Circus Festival is happening this Labor Day Weekend, September 4-7. It’s a four-day celebration of circus featuring live performances, community events, and workshops for people of all ages.
And as a bonus… FOUR performers are alums of the Hupstate Circus Artist residency that we host each spring in collaboration with Circus Culture.
- Matthew Morgan is doing an aerial straps performance during Friday’s gallery night over by the mural on the side of Hotel Ithaca.
- Nicki Miller and Benny Oyzon – a ticketed show Saturday night at Circus Culture called “Sticks & Stone.”
- Troy Lingelbach – 2 different performances: “International Lover” at the Cherry on Saturday (SOLD OUT!) and “ECDYSIS” — outdoors at the Hoffman Challenge Course — on Sunday!
Hupstate features a diverse program: Free and ticketed events, ASL-interpreted events, indoor and outdoor performances, family-friendly, and late-night shows with flying trapeze, acrobatics, aerials, a kids day, and much more. For juggling enthusiasts: Hupstate also coincides with the Big Red Juggle Fest at Cornell!
