Ten local teachers will be coming to Saltonstall for 5-day residencies during their upcoming winter and spring recesses. We pulled names out of a hat and look forward to welcoming the following teachers to the colony in February and April…
Teachers coming in February include:
Edna Brown, a social worker at Beverly J. Martin
Brooke Burnett, a 3rd grade teacher at Beverly J. Martin
Benjamin Eckley, a librarian at Ithaca High School
Kari Krakow, an ENL teacher at Ithaca High School
Elizabeth Rechtin, art teacher, Dryden Central Schools
Teachers coming in April include:
Kathryn Cernera, an English teacher at DeWitt Middle School
Judy Cogan, an art teacher at Fall Creek & Enfield Elementary
Shawn Goodman, school psychologist at Ithaca High School
Spencer Hill, a 3rd grade teacher at Cayuga Heights Elementary
Karen Jordan, an ENL teacher at Ithaca High School
Congratulations, teachers!
These residencies are totally free to attend. Each teacher will be provided with a private live/work space in which to focus on their own writing or art practice. Like our summer residencies, a chef will prepare dinner for the group each night.
We are grateful for the support this program receives from the Ithaca Public Education Initiative (IPEI). Find more information on the Residencies for Teachers page. And if you’re a teacher in Tompkins County, please apply next year!
