Katya Grokhovsky (2013)

KatyaGrok copyKatya Grokhovsky is a Brooklyn based, Ukrainian-born, Australian-raised multidisciplinary artist. She works in performance, video, installation, photography, sculpture, drawing and painting. She has an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA, a BFA from Victorian College of the Arts, Australia and a BA (Honors) in Fashion from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia.

 

Grokhovsky has been awarded numerous residencies including NARS – New York Art Residency & Studios Foundation, NYC, Santa Fe Art Institute, NM, and OxBow Residency, MI. She has received the Australia Council for the Arts ArtStart Grant, a NYFA (New York Foundation for the Arts) Mentoring Program award, and the Freedman Traveling Scholarship for Emerging Artists among many other awards.

 

She has exhibited extensively, nationally and internationally, and her recent work has been shown in venues such as NARS gallery, NYC, Watermill Center, NY, Chashama, NYC, Galerie Protege, NYC. Ukrainian Institute of America, NYC, Verge Art Fair, Miami, FL, Pool Art Fair, NYC, Fountain Art Fair, NYC, Gallery 151, NYC, Fowler Arts Collective, NYC, Museum of Russian Art, Jersey City, Grace Exhibition Space, NYC, The Bedroom, NYC, Cue Foundation, NYC, Chelsea Art Museum, NYC, and the Defibrillator gallery, Chicago.
